Keeping Children Safe

New Hire Process
When hiring new staff who will be working with HS or EHS children or families, please follow the following process to ensure all necessary documentation is in place:
1)Michigan Childcare Background Checks- Prior to hiring, directors or other relevant Human Resources personnel identified at each center will forward a copy of the letter from the Michigan Child Care Background Checks to the Collaborative Center Program Manager within 24 hours of receipt from the State of Michigan.
2) Transcripts/Degree- Prior to hiring, for HS leads and assistants and EHS primary caregivers, please submit copies of transcripts of the applicant being considered for hire.
3) APOT- Within the first week of hire, directors will submit new staff and volunteer APOT paperwork via email to their Coordinator.

Staff and Volunteer Required Paperwork
Refer to the chart on the right to ensure all staff and volunteers have the required paperwork in place.

Safety is of the utmost importance to NMCAA. Background checks are one of many steps that ensure children are with adults who will keep them safe. We appreciate your support and efforts to ensure this important procedure is followed.
