Mental Health Referral Process
After Tier 1 Services have been explored in the Behavior Management Protocol, it might be appropriate for the teacher and/or FCS/CCSC to discuss mental health services with the child's parent. If the parent is interested in accessing these services for their child, the teacher and/or FSC/CCSC will work with the parent to complete the Mental Health Request/Referral/Release below. Caring for Yourself
Although working with children and families is important and rewarding, it is hard work and can often be stressful. It’s important to recognize signs of stress in yourself and to ask for and receive needed support. Strategies for self-care and professional development should be part of your routine. Check out the How to prevent Caregiver Burnout (video 4/4) from the Resilience Film website. NMCAA offers mental health support to their employees and to staff who are working with EHS/HS families at our direct operated EHS center-based and collaborative centers through the EAP program. Your decision to meet with an EAP counselor will be kept confidential and your employer or NMCAA will not be notified that you chose to use these services. Find contact information and details about this opportunity in the brochure below. EAP Brochure |
