Determining Candidates for Intensive Coaching Opportunities
All Professional Development Surveys will be scored using the PBC Scoring System after CLASS observations are complete. Once priority points have been determined for all education staff, the opportunity for intensive coaching will be offered to the four individuals with the highest number of points. If intensive coaching is declined, the opportunity will be offered to the candidate with the next highest priority point rating, and so on.

Follow these steps to begin Practice Based Coaching:
- At the first PBC meeting, the Coordinator and Teacher will review and sign the Coaching Contract.
- Using the information from the Professional Development Survey and the fall CLASS scores, the Coordinator will work with the teacher to create a Shared Goal and Action Plan. The Coordinator will schedule a time with the Teacher to observe the plan in action. (All teachers, not just teachers receiving intensive coaching, will create a Shared Goal and Action Plan with their Coordinator.)
- The Coordinator will complete the Observation Log and Reflection sheet at the scheduled observation.
- The Coordinator and Teacher will have a Reflection and Feedback meeting where the Coordinator will share their observations, ask open-ended questions, and brainstorm with the Teacher. This meeting should take place within a 1-2 day period after the observation.
- The Coordinator and Teacher will repeat the cycle of Observation/Reflection and Feedback until the teacher feels confident using the identified teaching practice. At this time, the Teacher can choose to set a new goal and start the cycles again.
