Provisional Services
While renovations are being completed for the EHS Learning Centers, enrolled families will receive home-based provisional services. Provisional services include weekly home visits using The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers, and Twos curriculum modified for use in the home.

At each home visit, families and teachers work together to select and implement activities to support each child's development and support parenting. As parents/guardians are a child’s first teacher, home visits follow their lead. By sharing ideas, language, and expectations during home visits, families and teachers can begin to establish a connection between home and the classroom before centers are operational.

Home Visits

Home visits engage parents/guardians in their child's learning and development. Through facilitated activities that promote parent-child interactions parents can support their child's learning and development.
Note: Due to the rise in COVID19 cases throughout the region, these visits may take place at another safe location that affords privacy or done remotely.

ChildPlus Entry Guidance

This guidance is for documenting Home Visits during the COVID19 pandemic. For the most part you will complete this process in the same way you previously entered Home Visits before the pandemic. You will complete the home visit plan prior to the call, develop plans with the parents each week for extension activities, document progress, in-kind, and share resources, etc.

Home Visit Plan
  1. When you talk with the family take notes on the home visit form and write “by phone or virtual” on the signature line if it not a face to face visit.
After the phone call, open ChildPlus and complete the following steps.
  1. Select a participant and go to the Family Services tab. On the Family Services>Event tab you will select the Home Visit event from the list of Family Services Events. Scroll down the list to the next Home Visit in the list and open the event.
Enter the following:
  1. Action Type: Direct (automatically generated)
  2. Scheduled: (automatically generated for the Monday of each weekly home visit)
  3. Action Date: Select day the event occurred.
  4. Type of Contact: (automatically generated as Home Visit) if family is unable to meet face to face due to sickness, choose the type of contact applicable. Ex. Ready Rosie (if they are active participants), or virtual learning for zoom/facetime meeting, phone, etc.
  5. Status: Dependent on outcome:
    1. Choose “Action Completed” if the face-to-face/virtual visit was completed. While the goal is for this contact is to take place in-person or on a virtual platform (so there is a visual connection with the family), it is okay if a phone call needs to take place on occasion. A phone call can also be considered an “Action Completed” if the content of the conversation included what would be covered in an in-person Home Visit.
    2. If canceled: Choose reason it was canceled.
    3. If you have made attempts to schedule via phone, text, email, or mailed letters, and have not received a response, choose “Not Scheduled” and add Action Notes of all attempts and all responses.
    4. If the family is a no show for scheduled visits, choose no one home.
  6. Case Worker: Enter your name.
  7. Total Time: Adjust to reflect duration of visit/contact.
  8. Action Notes: Time Stamp the entry and type COVID19 followed by additional notes about the call, resources shared, whether or not the families answered the call or any other important notes. All follow up attempts for a missed visit should also be recorded and timestamped in the same manner along with all correspondences from families. Please include communication type, reasons of missed visit, and any other important notes. Time stamp whenever you add additional information.
  9. Once you have completed the entry select “Save”.

*ChildPlus is a real time database, please ensure that all data is entered in the week that they occur.
